Ingrown Toenails

Treatment

Treatment of an ingrown toenail does not need to be painful.

A wedge or spicule of nail can be cut back with or without anaesthetic and will provide instant relief from the pain.

You may be advised to seek antibiotics through your GP or to return at certain intervals to retrain the nail to grow trouble-free.

After all conservative efforts have been made, it may be time to consider Nail Surgery. This is a simple procedure that can be easily explained and quoted for by the podiatrist.

Most private health insurers cover Nail Surgery, also known as a Partial Nail Avulsion.
