Biomechanical Assessments

Running Machine

Painful joints, tendons or sore feet can all be assessed and treated by a podiatrist.

A biomechanical assessment is a thorough set of mobility and movement tests which can be used by your podiatrist to measure what happens to your feet, arches and lower limbs when you sit, stand and move.

Our Podiatrists assess your lower limb;

  • Structure

  • Alignment

  • Strengths &

  • Weaknesses

The examination is not focused simply upon the foot but includes the pelvis, legs and knees, assessing the relationship between them.

Gait analysis is used to assess and treat individuals with conditions affecting their ability to walk. It is also commonly used in sports biomechanics to help athletes run more efficiently and to identify posture-related or movement-related problems in people with injuries.

Depending on the findings, our Podiatrists may recommend Orthotics to support and enhance your natural movement.
